About hs-cTnI
Troponin, a molecular complex bound to the thin filament (actin) of striated muscle fibers, interacts with intracellular calcium to regulate muscle contraction. The complex consists of three proteins: Troponin T, Troponin I, and Troponin C. Cardiac Troponin I is highly specific for the myocardium and is a crucial marker for diagnosing acute myocardial infarction (AMI) due to its high myocardial specificity and long duration of elevation.
